Overview of Optimisation View

The Optimisation View helps practices identify patients who may be miscoded or missing from relevant QOF registers. It highlights potential opportunities to review and optimise patient records, helping improve data quality and ensure patients are correctly identified for appropriate care.

Example: NDH Monitoring

Once patients have been added to a register through the Optimisation View, they will need to be invited for the relevant review or monitoring. This can be set up as an automated recall in Abtrace.

Non-diabetic hyperglycaemia (NDH) is one example. Patients on the NDH register need an annual HbA1c or fasting glucose test for QOF purposes. To complete this by the end of the QOF year on 31st March 2027, it helps to know how many patients need to be invited each week.

The tool shows the number of appointment and approximate clinic hours needed each week to finish by your chosen target date. Earlier target dates leave time to follow up non-attenders and recalls.
