Example Automated Recall Suggestions
Where do I start when setting up Automated Recalls?
Please see some example Automated Recall configurations below, to assist with creating your own personalised set up. It's recommended you review Rules Management before setting up Automated Recalls, to ensure the Abtrace tool is loaded with the monitoring required at your practice.
Example: If you'd like patients with CKD to attend your practice for annual bloods, this will need to be turned on as a rule before setting up a recall for this cohort.
When structuring your recall setup, it's important to consider slot type mapping per recall, staff skill mix, capacity, and efficiency. Where appropriate, including broad categories per recall (e.g a recall for any patient with a chronic condition due for a blood test/ annual review), streamlines practice processes and reduces the number of messages per patient, potentially increasing patient responses by reducing message fatigue.
- Two streams for long term conditions (LTCs) and Medications Monitoring
- LTCs by birth month
- Medications monitoring bloods
or
-
- All bloods for both LTCs and/ or medications when due
- All biometrics for any reason
If you have a self service kiosk at reception, you can set up a recall for patients due BP/ height/ weight etc to attend and action independently. Alternatively, these can be set up as a questionnaire for patients to self submit a reading via the patient portal.
- Urine ACR
- Vaccines (e.g Pneumonia, Shingles, Flu, Covid)
- Childhood Immunisations
- NHS Health Checks
- Cervical Screening
- Medication / Prescribing Review
- Drug Safety Advice
- Mental Health
- Questionnaires (ACT score, Statin offer, Smoking Status, AUDIT-C etc)
- Advanced Searches (e.g Diabetics complete for bloods, but missing their foot check/ condition review, or Asthmatics complete for ACT, but missing a condition review)
- To Target (Patients complete for BP reading, but reading out of range etc).
Top Tip - Use the 'days overdue' filter to decide how far in advance you'd like to start picking up patients as they become due for their monitoring.
You can add this by selecting 'groups' on the bottom left hand side of population view, and switching the relevant toggle on.
Example: The below filtering will pick up patients that are -182 days from overdue (meaning they will become overdue in 182 days). This can be modified to suit your workflow - e.g -14 days minimum would begin picking up patients at 2 weeks from becoming due.
